02 / FAMILY OWNED SINCE 1966

The Monroes Have Been Keeping Cars Shifting Smoothly Since 1966.

Bud Monroe opened the first Monroe Transmission in 1966. His sons grew up around the shop and learned the business from the ground up.

The family opened the Yuba City shop in 2000. The approach is still simple. We inspect the vehicle, explain what we found, and let you decide how to proceed.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Here are answers to the questions we hear most.

See all common questions
What are the signs of transmission trouble?

Slipping, delayed engagement, rough shifts, grinding, fluid leaks, and a burning smell can all point to a transmission or drivetrain problem. A warning light is another reason to have the vehicle checked. Tell us what happens and when it happens.

Can I drive with a slipping transmission?

Driving with a slipping transmission can make the damage worse and may leave you without reliable acceleration. Stop somewhere safe if the vehicle loses drive, overheats, or leaks heavily. Call us if you’re unsure whether it should be driven or towed.

Should I rebuild or replace my transmission?

The answer depends on the damage, the condition of the vehicle, parts availability, and the cost of each option. We need to diagnose the problem first. Then we can explain the repair, rebuild, and replacement choices that apply to your vehicle.

05 / REQUEST SERVICE

We only need a few details to get started.

Tell us what you drive and what you’ve noticed. Leave your contact information on the last step and we’ll follow up.
